Looking good for services tomorrow – January 12, 2020

Hi Everyone,
We are looking very good to be able to have all scheduled services tomorrow our Lord willing.

  • Sunday School
  • Morning Worship
  • Potluck fellowship
  • Annual Meeting

It seems the precipitation has moved through with very little accumulation. We have a crew meeting at the church tomorrow at 7 am to make sure everything is clear and safe for us when we arrive for a good Lord’s Day. If you would like to help, just show up at 7 am with snow shovel or ice scraper in hand. The guys will be spreading ice melt mostly as there is very little snow to remove.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in the morning. May you be blessed and careful as you travel in.
Sincerely,Pastor Dave

All services, potluck and annual meeting still on schedule for Sunday – January 12, 2020

2020 Here we come!
We will face the winter storm tomorrow with Bibles and crockpots in hand … in Jesus’ name of course!

Hi Everyone,
Unless things change for the worse later this afternoon, we are still on schedule for all tomorrow’s events as planned:

  • Morning worship
  • Potluck
  • Annual meeting

If things worsen and it looks like we have to postpone, we will let you know as soon as possible. Looking forward to a good day tomorrow in our Lord’s name. Amen. Please plan on being there so we can take care of necessary things as we continue to move into a new year of opportunities to worship and serve. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Pastor Dave

  • (2 Corinthians 5:6–10 ESV) So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

Amazing, amazing hymn by Augustus Toplady …

This is a great example of why we
don’t ditch the old hymns of the faith.

From Whence This Fear And Unbelief  / Augustus Toplady

Verse 1: From whence this fear and unbelief, Hath not the Father put to grief, His spotless Son for me, And will the righteous Judge of men, Condemn me for that debt of sin, Which, Lord, was charged on Thee?

Verse 2: Complete atonement Thou hast made, And to the utmost Thou hast paid, Whate’er Thy people owed; How then can wrath on me take place, If sheltered in Thy righteousness, And sprinkled with Thy blood.

Verse 3: If Thou hast my discharge procured, And freely in my place endured, The whole of wrath divine, Payment God cannot twice demand, First at my bleeding Surety’s hand, And then again at mine.

Verse 4: Turn then, my soul, unto thy rest, The merits of thy great High Priest, Have bought thy liberty, Trust in His efficacious blood, Nor fear thy banishment from God, Since Jesus died for you.

Hope to read this together during morning worship on Sunday. This was brought to my attention by Dr. Curt Daniel, pastor of Faith Bible Church in Springfield. “Payment God cannot twice demand.” Perfect fit with tomorrow’s message.
