Missionary speakers this week – Matt & Sara Titus and family

SERVICE TIME THIS WEEK: 10:00 – 11:30 AM

Meet the Tituses

Matt grew up in St. Charles, IL and Sara grew up as a missionary kid in Colombia, South America. They met at WIU and were married in Colchester, IL. They have six children, ages 4-16. Their names (from oldest to youngest) are Izabela, Samuel, Lucie, Evy, Theo, and Victoria.

Matt and Sara Titus have served as church planters with Team in the Czech Republic since 2012. Their work involves evangelism through building relationships with Czech people, discipleship, and training up new leaders in the church. From 2012 to 2016, they helped plant the Ladvi church in northern Prague. When they returned from home assignment in 2017, they began helping plant Network Praha in the downtown area of Prague.

The Czech Republic is a mostly atheistic country, with fewer than 1% evangelical Christians. According to the Joshua Project Progress Scale, an estimate of the progress of church planting among a people group, the Czech Republic falls in the “minimally reached” category, only one level away from “unreached.”

Matt and Sara believe God has called them, along with their family, to live missionally among Czech people. Practically, this looks like building relationships with neighbors and families from the local school, reaching out to and caring for single people, doing life alongside Christians and non-Christians, looking for practical  needs that they can meet, inviting others into their home (lots of food and laughter), as well as encouraging and building up the church.
