• Apart from a work of God in our hearts, we will hold to our ways and our thoughts over God’s ways and God’s thoughts to our very destruction!

Question: Why is the “easy” way easy and the “hard” way hard?

• The choice is easy versus hard, narrow versus wide, destruction versus life, many versus few. Why would anyone choose destruction over life? Why is the decision for destruction easy, and the decision for life hard? And what is so compelling about the wide way?

Answer: The wide, easy way is our way.

• We don’t have to change our minds. We don’t have to repent. We can live as we please. And just like Adam and Eve, we are not going to let God tell us what to do.
• The hard way is God’s way, and he calls us to repentance (change our minds) for sin.
• In the realm of humans the wide way is very reasonable and rational. On the wide road a person tolerates everything except the exclusive gospel of Jesus Christ as the only Way, the only Truth, the only Life.
