Blessed Is the Person Who Delights in God’s Words
Hello to You,
I have been asking the Lord for direction for our evening services, and I believe the result of those prayers is that this Sunday evening, our gracious God willing, we will begin a study on The Blessed Life beginning with Psalm 1.
In the process of praying and considering what is the blessed life I was curious as to what I might find if I searched in God’s word for the exact phrases — “blessed is” and “blessed are” and … Eureka … I struck gold as I found 88 results in 84 verses in the English Standard Version.
I have compiled and formatted a database of those texts after eliminating those which were either not relevant or of little relevance to our specific study for the blessed life. If this has piqued your interest you may be happy to know I have attached to this post my results in a PDF.

1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. 4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; 6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
