  • (Hebrews 11:3 ESV) By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

Faith. There is one way, and only one, by which we understand the origins of the universe. We believe God. We value his written word above all else.

We don’t have to prove God’s account by science, but we have solid scientific proof.

We don’t have to prove the reliability of the Bible by human means and methods, but we have overwhelming research to show our Bible is the word of God.

For any of us to come to an understanding of creation that fits God’s ultimate reality, we must believe God. Trust his word.

You may think that is a given among professing believers, but I don’t think so. We hedge and dodge and weave. When it comes down to it, we want to believe what we want to believe and what we already to believe AND what does not change our lifestyle or life direction.

All at odds with a Sovereign Lord.

And all robbing us of the abundance Jesus Christ offers in his gift of eternal life.

In viewing the study sheets for this week, you will see that I have given some overviews per the supporting evidence for the reliability of Scripture. I have also supported this with a timeline showing the time span that Scripture covers, both as it was being written and compiled, and as it has been preserved. Be amazed. And be thankful to a God such as our God!
