The Gospel + Nothing!
- The gospel. The gospel according to the Scriptures. It is all we have. It is all we need. The promise of God to save us from our sins based on the shed blood of Jesus Christ. The new covenant. The new agreement between God and humans.
- The hymn writer puts it this way: My hope is built on nothing less, Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness, I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ the solid Rock I stand, All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.
