About White Prairie
The White Prairie is a private prairie restoration project in western Illinois. A former 8-acre crop field was seeded to prairie in June 2004. One-third of the prairie was burned in a controlled burn on April 16, 2008.
The peak blooming period generally occurs the first two weeks of July.
The prairie is located at the private residence of Gerald White.
Tours of the Prairie: July 12 – 13, 2013
- Friday evening, July 12, 6 – 8 pm
- Saturday morning, July 13, 9 am – noon
- No Admission Fee
- Guided walking tours and tours by hay rack.
You may want to bring your camera and a pair of binoculars.
