◼︎ A Mother’s Cosmic Struggle …

• Time on Earth is the shortest, most brief period of your child’s existence. A wisp of smoke, a vapor in relation to eternity.
• Our children must make their own decision, but eternity must be our focus with our children.
• Know this: This is a spiritual battle beyond our capability. We must stay true to God and his word in everything.
• Understand that cosmic forces contend with your daily life as they did in the time of Eve our first mother.
• Cosmic: of or relating to the universe or outer space; relating to spiritual matters; very large or important; the cosmos, the extraterrestrial vastness, or the universe in contrast to the earth alone.

Due to my oversight, I did not include all of the wait staff and doormen in the previous insert.

So, after a complaint from Local 777 Food Service Waiters & Butlers Union, I have rectified the problem.

As I recall, I have not in the past thought of Eve as my mother. As my original parent, yes, but mother, no, not really. I believe and hold to the biblical account of Adam & Eve as the biological parents of all humans on the planet. God’s word said it. Done. Settled. Just had never thought of Eve in this way. Probably because of our Genesis study as pouring over the a book in study brings many “aha” moments. And something one of the commentators said in my research …

So this week, we are going to look at some things that Eve possibly would share with us “mother to children.” Lessons that she learned. Learned the hard way.

Need to know.

Study the text and find the basic lessons and that’s really what it comes down to when God speaks to us. He will reveal to us what we need to know for obedience and worship and service.

• (2 Timothy 3:16–17 ESV) ¹⁶ All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, ¹⁷ that the man [and woman] of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Sometimes at least could it be that it is not so much a matter of what we know or can prove, but what or Who will we obey?

Who do we trust?

Our obedience, or lack of, will tell us who we trust and who we love.

The “Woman” in Genesis three listened to the crafty serpent and allowed her belief in the goodness of God to be undermined. With her new perspective, skewed as it was, she defied God and her husband followed suit.
