After all, homemade is always better, right?<\/p>\n<p>They were all about the Bible and biblical morals. Leading voices in religious affairs.\u00a0Angry and upset about government involvement and regulations.\u00a0They vigorously pursued righteousness through the law of Moses. Zealots that they were, they chased after the God of the Bible like nobody&#8217;s business.<\/p>\n<p>But when their Bibles brought them before their long-awaited Messiah, they stumbled and fell.<\/p>\n<p>Even as Christ stood before them in the flesh, and they were clueless.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>(<span lang=\"en-US\">John 5:39\u201340<\/span> AMP)\u00a0<span lang=\"en-US\"><sup>39<\/sup> <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">You search <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">and<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> investigate <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">and<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> pore over the Scriptures diligently, because you suppose <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">and<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> trust that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me! <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><sup>40<\/sup> <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">And still you are not willing [but refuse] to come to Me, so that you might have life.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>How could this happen?<\/h4>\n<p>Instead of receiving the righteousness of God, they sought to establish their own righteousness.
