Terrified by reality. Literally and actually scared to death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The fool\u2019s life unravels the moment he or she sees God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>(1) The fool decides in his heart that there is no God and reaps what he sows, 14:1.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Fools counsel themselves in their hearts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Fools live by a \u201cno god\u201d creed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Fools spoil (corrupt) their lives which results in terrible deeds and an absence of goodness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The word fool is Nabal, cf. 1 Samuel 25.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Nabal\u2019s life reflected this fool\u2019s decision: \u201charsh\u201d and \u201cbadly behaved\u201d (<\/span><span class=\"s2\">1 Samuel 25:3<\/span><span class=\"s1\">), arrogant (<\/span><span class=\"s2\">1 Samuel 25:9\u201310<\/span><span class=\"s1\">), worthless, foolish (<\/span><span class=\"s2\">1 Samuel 25:25<\/span><span class=\"s1\">), evil (<\/span><span class=\"s2\">1 Samuel 25:39<\/span><span class=\"s1\">).<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Maybe worst of all his distorted perception of a \u201cno God\u201d life:<br \/>\n&#8211; <b>He thought he was a king but was merely a dead fool<\/b> (<\/span><span class=\"s2\">1 Samuel 25:36\u201337<\/span><span class=\"s1\">).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>(2) The fool may not know who he is but God certainly does, 14:2-5, <\/b><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b>cf. Matthew 6:19-24<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\"><b>.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The LORD looks down from heaven and gives a very grave evaluation of humanity, 14:2-5.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">His judgment is that everyone has turned aside 14:2-3.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">His judgment is that fools pool their foolishness and multiply corruption (rotten to the core), 14:3.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The psalmist is incredulous at the lifestyle of the fool, 14:4.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The tragic irony of the fool: Reality means great terror because he has left God out of his life, 14:5, <\/span><span class=\"s2\">cf. 1 Samuel 25:36-37<\/span><span class=\"s1\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>(3) The fool disdains the poor but the LORD does not, 14:6-7.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>CONCLUSION: Flip that house. Our creed in our hearts? God!<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Be encouraged with the renovation that God is working in your life.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">We are not fools.
