REVELATION MESSAGE 24 – Conquering the Beast or Cursing God
Revelation 15-16

AUDIO for Sunday AM – April 23, 2017

The God of Heaven and Earth versus the demon gods of deceit. A battlefield update …

  • The people of Earth are now in the throes of the great tribulation. The devil has asserted his control by setting up a world government that dominates every sector of the social, economic, political and religious landscape. Now demanding worship, the dragon and the beast call all people to bow before them or die.
  • Our question this morning is, Does God allow this to go unchecked? Does he allow the dragon, the antichrist and the false prophet to wreak havoc and spew hatred unopposed? Has God pulled up stakes? Did he cut his losses and run? Hightailed it out of there? Are those who tragically missed the Rapture entirely at the mercy of the dark forces?
  • No. Emphatically no. Our Bibles teach us that God is working a plan that he put in place before he laid the foundations of the earth; his plan, the plan of God … conceived in the mind of God by his infinite wisdom and knowledge before this impostor god and his evil forces even existed. They are no match for our God.
  • Never forget who owns the planet. Never forget that earth is God’s creation, the work of his hands. He set the earth on its foundations; he spoke and the earth was formed; he set the stars in their place and calls them by name. He is God, and there is no other. He is God, and there is none like him.
  • Surrender his planet to the devil, a pretend god, an impostor, a mere created being? Never. Sign the title deed of the universe over to the prince of darkness? Not going to happen.
  • At this stage of the battle God attacks the darkness by sending witnesses to his eternal gospel to every nation on earth. Yes, things are different now. Very different. World and local events are beyond horrible and devastating. And it is very likely that if a person does heed the angelic warrior messengers and refuses to bow in worship to the dragon and the antichrist that he or she will be martyred. But the people left behind are not without hope. Many, probably most, of them will die, but also many will live to populate the earth when Christ takes back his property and sets up his millennial rule after the annihilation of the dragon and his forces at the battle of Armageddon.
  • The Lamb of God stands ready with 144,000 elite troops on the ground, loyal and devoted to him in every way. And six times in our text this morning we will see the mighty warrior angels of God providing air support. And we will see the Holy Spirit of God blessing the saints of God and calling them to endure.
  • The end is at hand.

God’s response to the darkness …

  • So how does God respond to the hateful vengeance of the dragon and the violence and oppression which he directs toward the people on Earth? Does God leave those who miss the Rapture to the mercy of the dark forces? No, he certainly does not!
  • God responds to the darkness by sending witnesses to his eternal gospel to every nation on earth. Yes, things are different now. Very different. World and local events are beyond horrible and devastating. And it is very likely that if a person heeds the angel messengers and refuses to bow in worship to the dragon and the antichrist that he or she will be martyred. Great trip to Indiana for Lee

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for praying for our trip to Indiana so Lee could visit his friend, Ryan. Travel went very well. I (Dave) drove like a sane person (almost the entire time). Good weather, etc.

Lee and Ryan and I had an excellent visit.

Again, thanks for praying.

AUDIO for Easter Sunday – April 16, 2017

Have you ever forgiven someone 7 times in one day?

    • Or how about 49 times in a week? Or 210 times in a month? Or 2,555 times in a year?
    • Now you may be tempted to dismiss this as hyperbole or exaggeration, overstatement or embellishment. You may even be tempted to dismiss this as merely rhetoric.
    • But let’s not forget that it was Jesus Christ who got the ball rolling on this idea of multiplying by seven when it comes to the subject of forgiveness. It is Jesus Christ who directs our thoughts in this way. His intent was then and is now to push our minds past the human boundaries of “our thoughts” and “our ways” when it comes forgiveness. How far does he want to push us? Until we begin to think like God and obey his will concerning forgiveness.
    • The Apostle Paul gives very clear support for this teaching that we are in fact to forgive as God forgives.
    • He writes to the Ephesians … Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you (Ephesians 4:32 ESV).
    • And to the Colossians … Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive (Colossians 3:12–13 ESV).
    • But when we discuss forgiveness, we do something pretty crazy. We reverse the process. We take God’s truth and make it fit our human standards; we bring it down to something we understand, and more importantly, what we are willing to accept.
    • I say this because many not only refuse to forgive 7 or 49 or 210 or 2,555 times, but refuse to forgive even once. Too many times we will forgive only according to the rational processes of our mind and the determination of our will. What do I mean by that? I mean that we, just as Adam and Eve in their rebellion in the garden, believe that we have the right to determine good and evil. We may not realize or admit it, but that is exactly what is happening.
    • We, along with probably every church across the land, have discussions as to how we can bring people into our fellowship. The Bible doesn’t have a section on programs and methods that will add members to our church. But the Bible says a lot about sin and forgiveness.
    • What if we got that part right?
